According to police sources, the incident occurred at approximately 8:40 PM while the toddler was playing outside his house accompanied by his mother. The abduction took place during a brief window when the mother stepped inside the house to change her footwear. Upon her return, the child was nowhere to be found.
Law enforcement agencies have obtained closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage from the area. The video clip captures a motorcyclist, wearing a helmet to conceal his identity, riding out of the housing society with the toddler.
Following the incident, the Manghopir police registered a formal kidnapping case on the complaint of the child’s father, Wahab Ali.
Meanwhile, the abduction has sparked severe resentment and fear among the residents.
A large-scale protest, heavily attended by local women and children, was staged in the area. Demonstrators blocked the main thoroughfare, demanding immediate and actionable steps from higher authorities to recover the minor and apprehend the perpetrator.
