ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has granted interim bail to TikToker Nausheen Saeed alias Dolly for allegedly setting fire to a forest while filming a video.
Last week, Dolly fled from the district courts following the rejection of her bail plea. She had filed a petition before the IHC seeking bail.
IHC Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri took up the petition. The court granted pre-arrest interim bail to TikToker till June 8 and adjourned the hearing.
Dolly applied for pre-arrest bail after the registration of an FIR against her for setting the forest ablaze for making a video.
Kohsar Police had registered a case under various sections of Environment Protection Agency and Islamabad Wildlife Ordinance.
Islamabad Police had registered two separate FIRs after two videos went viral on social media showing two young TikTokers setting the forest on fire with a lighter on Margalla Hills. Another video that went viral on social media showed a model and TikToker Dolly performing in front of a fire.
Dolly stoked controversy after posing for a TikTok video by a forest fire. She posted a clip of herself walking playfully in a silver ball gown in front of a burning hillside with the caption: “Fire erupts wherever I am.”
The clip has since been taken down. Saeed, who has more than 11 million followers on TikTok, said in a statement that she did not start the fire and there was “no harm in making videos”.
