ISLAMABAD: Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry had revealed that a tussle among party stalwarts Jahangir Khan Tareen, Asad Umar and Shah Mahmood Qureshi inflicted massive damages on the party.
In an interview with a private news channel, the federal minister revealed that Asad Umar was removed as finance minister by Tareen, and later Tareen was ousted from the party when Asad Umar regained strength.
Fawad also criticised his own party and said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf failed to bring change as promised in the country due to its own mistakes.
The federal minister said Prime Minister Imran Khan was elected by the people to bring reforms in the political administration and the people had high expectations from him.
He expressed dismay that bureaucrats have taken over the system due to weaknesses among political forces and they had to face delay in reformation of the system.
He said that Imran Khan is the only leader in the country with a clear vision and ideas. He said that the team was selected by the leader and new faces became part of the team due to internal conflict.
Chaudhry said that they made hectic efforts to resolve issues between the party leaders but remained unsuccessful. He said the problems surfaced when they failed to create balance in governance and party.
He said Imran Khan could not bring reforms due to his political team and also criticised the government for having a large number of advisors and special assistants.
He revealed that all institutions including army were supporting the incumbent government of Imran Khan to strengthen the democratic setup in the country. He brushed aside personal interest and said they would like to make the system more powerful to achieve the due results and bring visible change.
