Stage actress Khushboo Qureshi has finally been acquitted by the Special Central Court after the complainant withdrew his allegations during the hearing.
Special Central Court Judge Ashfaq Ahmed announced the verdict in favor of the actress after the complainant, identified as Rafiq, distanced himself from his earlier statement and informed the court that he no longer had any complaint against her.
The case, originally registered by the Federal Investigation Agency in 2013, accused Khushboo Qureshi of allegedly luring a citizen with promises of sending him to Malaysia in exchange for money.
During the hearing, the complainant stated that he had handed over Rs500,000 to the actress’s former husband, Zahid Shahzad, and clarified that Khushboo Qureshi is now divorced and separated from him.
The complainant further told the court that he had no objections if the actress was acquitted in the case.
Court records revealed that the actress had remained absconding in the matter for several years. However, she appeared before the court after her passport was blocked, leading to renewed proceedings in the case.
