RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff ( COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa has said professional excellence and extensive training ensure effective response against all challenges and threats.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Army chief visited the troops of Lahore Corps in the field and was briefed about the operational preparedness of the formation, interacted with troops carrying out maintenance of defenses and also witnessed small arms firing.
Corps Commander Lieutenant General Muhammad Abdul Aziz accompanied the COAS during the visit. Speaking on the occasion, the COAS appreciated troops for their professionalism and high training standards.
The COAS also advised officers and men to stay focused in their professional pursuits and keep abreast with changing nature of threats.
Earlier, the COAS had visited a field training area in the Cholistan Desert where he was briefed about conduct modalities of 2 weeks long Corps level exercise Zarb e Hadeed.
The exercise aimed at enhancing operational preparedness of formations by creating synergy among Infantry, Mechanized Forces, Combat Aviation, Surveillance platforms, Army Air Defence and Artillery while operating within the defensive Operation cycle of a Corps, ISPR said.
The troops and units participating in the exercise displayed a great degree of professionalism and synergy while conducting offensive and defensive maneuvers in different phases of the exercise.
Appreciating the dedication and professionalism of participating troops, COAS expressed complete satisfaction over combat readiness and training standards of Bahawalpur Corps.
Excellent training and commitment enhance the operational capability for an effective response to all threats and challenges, the army chief emphasized.
Later, COAS visited Logistic installations of Bahawalpur Corps and lauded the engineering skills and maintenance standards achieved. Earlier, on arrival at the exercise area, COAS was received by Corps Commander Lieutenant General Khalid Zia.
