ISLAMABAD: Around 24 smuggled vehicles have been seized in a showroom under the vision and directives of the Prime Minister of Pakistan to curb smuggling.
The operation was conducted by the Pakistan Customs in line with the Frontier Corps and the Balochistan Police in a showroom on the Quetta-Chamman Highway where 24 luxurious cars were seized.
The mob that had gathered showed a lot of resistance against the forces in lodging an FIR against the owners of the showroom. However, a case was filed against the owners.
Luxury vehicles including Land Cruisers like the V8, the Premio Car, the Honda Cross Road, the Toyota Double Cabins, the Axio car, and Suzuki cars were recovered through the operation. The value of the seized goods is approximately Rs. 120 million.

A press release issued by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) stated, “Pakistan Customs is committed to achieving the vision of the Prime Minister and is taking landmark steps to seize smuggled goods, and to protect the market and the interest of traders involved in legal trade.”
“Such actions will not only protect the market from hazardous and smuggled goods but will also promote foreign direct investment by boosting the confidence and trust of investors,” it added.
