The streets of Karachi’s Defence neighborhood were rattled by a case that reached its dramatic conclusion with the tragic murder of Ali Keerio, son of a district and session judge. Recent developments have pointed fingers at Daniyal Mir Behr, son of a retired police officer, as the perpetrator of this dreadful crime.
Nearly two and a half months after the incident occurred, meticulous examination and thorough investigation by law enforcement authorities have brought closure to the case. The report, now in the possession of senior officials, unveils the sequence of events leading up to the fateful day, exposing a narrative of friendship soured and its devastating aftermath.
On that ill-fated day in Defence Phase V, Bangla No. 4/18, a chain of events unfolded, forever altering the lives of those involved. Ali Keerio, a young man full of promise, met his untimely demise due to a fatal gunshot allegedly fired by Daniyal Mir Behr.

The tragic trajectory commenced innocuously enough, with Daniyal extending an invitation to his friend Shazia to his residence. Little did they anticipate that what started as an ordinary gathering would spiral into chaos and tragedy.
Accounts suggest that while Daniyal and Shazia were in another room, Daniyal ordered burgers and cold drinks for them. However, when the servant delivered the order, Ali Keerio intercepted and proceeded to consume half of a burger in Ahmer’s room.
This seemingly minor incident sparked a chain reaction of escalating tensions. Despite attempts by his brother Ahmer to diffuse the situation, Daniyal’s rage remained unabated. A verbal confrontation ensued, culminating in Daniyal firing upon Ali Keerio, inflicting grievous injuries to his chest.
Subsequently, Daniyal and Ahmer rushed Ali Keerio to the hospital in their cousin’s car, but tragically, he succumbed to his wounds.
The investigative findings squarely place the blame on Daniyal Mir Behr, son of the retired police officer. Notably, the accused is presently incarcerated, awaiting trial in court as the legal proceedings unfold.
