The Sindh School Education Department has extended its decision to begin school classes at 9am due to the prevailing cold weather.
According to the department, schools across the province will now continue to open at 9am until 4 February.
The decision applies equally to all public and private schools, and a formal notification has been issued in this regard.
Earlier, due to severe cold conditions, the Sindh government had revised school timings from 11 January. Under that notification, schools were instructed to open at 9am, while closing times were to remain unchanged.
The previous notification stated that the revised timings would remain in effect from Monday, 11 January, to 26 January.
However, in view of the continuing cold spell, the authorities have decided to further extend the revised school opening time across the province.
