With the passage of time, Karachi has developed remarkably, but some of the major problems of the city have not yet been solved, including sanitation, dilapidated roads and transport problems.
The Sindh government has made great progress recently and with the passage of time to solve the problem of transport. The problems of transport have been solved to some extent by introducing projects like the red line bus, electric bus, and pink bus service.
However, in view of the growing population of the city, there is still a need for more transport facilities in many areas. Yesterday, many projects including health and infrastructure for Karachi were included in Sindh’s annual budget of Rs 22 trillion.
While delivering the budget speech yesterday, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said that an amount of Rs 10 billion has been allocated in the budget for 500 new hybrid buses. The special grant of Metropolitan which was Rs 60 crore is being increased to Rs 65 crore.
The Chief Minister said that the grant of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Institute Of Trauma (SMBBIT) has been increased from Rs 2.1 billion to Rs 3.1 billion. The amount for the National Children’s Institute has been increased from Rs 1.75 billion to Rs 2.06 billion. Increase financial resources with 4 thousand 258 posts for Jinnah Hospital.
He said that financial resources have been increased from Rs 7.12 billion to more than Rs 11.21 billion. Rs 20 crore has been granted to the kidney center, Rs 13 billion for red line corridor drainage, and Rs 50 crore for mobilizing the Sindh Forensic Science Lab. Rs 36.5 crores have been earmarked for the construction of the wall on the view and Rs 10 crores for the construction of the Gujjar drain.
Looking at the federal and provincial budgets of Sindh, nothing makes sense except for the garb of words. On the one hand, the government does not have money for the next month’s imports and on the other hand, the budgets of billions and trillions are beyond comprehension.
Some economists say that the government’s budget is nothing more than a beautiful mouthful of words and all this is being done to ask for votes from the people so that the simple people will be successful in the next election by showing them a green garden.
However, the people of the country have become sensible. People have the ability to analyze the news that comes out from social media and other media and reach their facts by themselves. In such a situation, a large number of people understand well how to ask for more votes by presenting a budget and increasing salaries. If you want to get real votes from people, you have to show real performance.
