The Sindh Government has approved the launch of a new digital system, FRAMES, to monitor teachers’ attendance in educational institutions through modern technology.
The decision was made during a meeting of the School Education Department chaired by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, as part of the provincial government’s efforts to modernise the education system.
The meeting was attended by Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah, Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah, School Education Secretary Zahid Abbasi, and other senior officials.
According to the Chief Minister, the FRAMES system will monitor teachers’ attendance using a facial recognition-based digital platform. The system will initially be launched in six districts from August 17, after which it will be expanded in phases to schools across the province, subject to the success of the pilot programme.
Murad Ali Shah said the modern attendance system is a key component of the government’s governance reforms in the education sector and is expected to improve transparency, discipline, and overall educational performance in schools. He added that the timely attendance of teachers is essential for delivering quality education.
Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah informed the meeting that the Education Department has completed all technical preparations required for the system’s implementation. He said that data-driven governance would help make educational administration more efficient.
The Chief Minister also directed the relevant authorities to establish an effective technical support and monitoring mechanism to assist school administrations during the initial phase of implementation.
