He passed away last evening due to a cardiac arrest as reported in the media.

Tony Navaid Rashid has been sort of an encyclopedia of old Lollywood and he was familiar with all the technicalities and knowledge of old Pakistani cinema. He started his career as a cultural reporter for an English-language newspaper.
He rose to prominence in 2006 as a serious film critic on the Morning Show, a segment dedicated to Pakistani cinema. It would not be wrong to call him the encyclopedia of the Lollywood industry because he had a lot of knowledge about Pakistani cinema.
