Shah Zain Bugti, Usman Tarakai, Salman Rafique test positive for coronavirus

LAHORE: Member National Assembly (MNA) Nawabzada Shah Zain Bugti from Dera Bugti, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Khawaja Salmani Rafique and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) MNA Usman Khan Tarakai have  tested positive for COVID-19.
According to details, the COVID-19 test of MNA Nawabzada Shah Zain Bugti and several of his colleagues returned positive, while 15 employees of Pakistan Petroleum Limited have also tested positive and isolated themselves at home.
Meanwhile, the COVID-19 tests of PTI’s MNA from Swabi Usman Khan Tarakai, his wife, son and daughter-in-law have also come positive and they have quarantined themselves at home.
Earlier, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Khawaja Salmani Rafique tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday.
The former provincial health minister has quarantined himself at his house and stopped meeting relatives, friends and party leaders.
On Friday, PML-N stalwart Saira Afzal Tarar had tested positive for COVID-19.
Earlier today, Member National Assembly of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), Usama Qadri had tested positive for COVID-19.
The lawmaker has gone into self-quarantine at the Parliament Lodges in Islamabad soon after he was diagnosed with the COVID-19.
The number of confirmed coronavirus cases has surged to 98,943 in Pakistan today, while the death toll stands at 2,000.
Pakistan has reported its highest numbers of COVID-19 deaths and infections in a single day since the pandemic emerged in March, prompting health experts to call for a strict lockdown to contain it.
According to the Health Ministry, a record of 4,960 new cases, and 48 deaths from the disease have been reported in the country during the last 24 hours.
As per details, 21 percent of the cases have foreign travel history while 79 percent of the cases are reported to be locally transmitted.
