Sectarianism and solidarity

The religion of Islam has given very special importance to the building of the mosque. This is the building where people come for some time to pray and recite the world’s most widely read book, the Holy Quran, glorify Allah and then return to their respective homes after joining in collective prayers.

In the eyes of Islam, the importance of the Quran is certain that it is the last Holy book of Allah, which was revealed to His beloved and the last Messenger of Allah, Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa (Peace Be Upon Him). When the time of Rasulullah SAW’s departure approached, the emotional state of the Companions, may Allah bless them and grant them peace, was visible.

On one occasion, the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said: I am leaving two things with you, if you hold on to them, you will never go astray, that is, the Book of Allah (the Holy Quran) and the Sunnah of his Prophet (PBUH). This hadith has been narrated by Hakim and Imam Malik.

The narration of the above hadith is attributed to Hazrat Abu Huraira, who has the honor of narrating the most hadiths from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, shows that the most important in Islam is the Holy Quran, then the hadith. And Sunnah and after that the importance of other sources of religious knowledge comes to light.

Unfortunately, with the passage of time, Muslims abandoned other religious activities and occupations, including the recitation of the Holy Quran and memorization of hadith, and adopted the way of the world, and with the passage of time, adopting religious rituals became a cause of regret. The situation today is that if someone keeps a beard, let alone the western countries, even in eastern societies, he is mocked as a cleric.

Religiously, this is a very worrying period in which the duties of the scholars have become extremely important. It is a great responsibility on the scholars to bring the people divided into different sects towards the values of Islam, such as high morals, honesty and love for the Messenger of Allah.

Today we see the voices of infidels and infidels rising from the pulpit and mihrab. Today, divisions are created in different sects by taking the name of Shia, Sunni and Ahl-e-Hadith, Wahhabi, Deobandi and Barelvi, while Pakistan has not been able to get out of the division of Sindhi, Balochi, Pashtun and Punjabi.

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not teach Muslims as a nation not to give the right to live to people of different faiths because people of different faiths at least agree that Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is the last of Allah.

If you talk about Sikhs, Hindus or Christians in comparison, they have much different beliefs, but Islam gave everyone equal right to live and taught that if you insult the God of an idolater, then God forbid. Similar foul language can be used about your true God.

Many scholars including Maulana Tariq Jameel, Mufti Taqi Usmani and Mufti Muneebur Rehman have called sectarianism a killer poison for the nation in their various speeches. There is a need to encourage the people to stay away from communal hatred with solidarity and unity in the mosques and madrassas established in our streets.
