Sanjay Manjrekar praises ‘all-weather batsman’ Muhammad Rizwan

MUMBAI: Former Indian cricketer-turned-commentator Sanjay Manjrekar heaped praise on Pakistan’s wicket-keeper batsman Muhammad Rizwan for his incredible unbeaten knock on day two of the second Test against England.
The former cricketer took to Twitter and termed Muhammad Rizwan as an ‘all-weather batsman’ for his incredible performance and diversity of shots.
Sanjay Manjrekar said, “This Mohammad Rizwan can bat! He can drive well off the front foot and at the same time play the pull and the cut superbly.”

“This makes him an ‘all-weather’ batsman. No wonder his top 3 scores in Tests so far have come in Australia and England,” Manjrekar added.
After the fall of prolific batsman Babar Azam, Rizwan upped the ante to score some quick runs which have helped Pakistan cross the 200-mark on a tricky Southampton pitch.
Rain has delayed the start of the third day’s play of the second Test today (Saturday). Pakistan finished day two on the score of 223-9 in their first innings after winning the toss.
The action of the first two days has been interrupted by murky weather and so far, only 86 overs of play have been possible. Wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan batted with huge skill and remained not out on 60.
