ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah on Friday asked the PTI activists to remove their top leader, who is tainted with “thefts” and “lies”, and replace him with a new chairman who should be honest.
In a statement, the minister said ‘liar’ Imran continued to get fake news stories published in a section of press and he himself used to steal expensive watches.
“Daily Mail’s apology is a confession that Imran Khan is the mastermind of this lie,” Sanaullah said, adding Khan tried to”blackmail” Shehbaz Sharif through Daily Mail.
The minister further said that it’s now proved that Imran Khan was a [certified] liar, thief and dishonest leader.
It is pertinent to mention here that The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Monday initiated proceedings to strip PTI chief Imran Khan of his party’s chairmanship following his disqualification in the Toshakhana reference.
The ECP has scheduled the hearing to remove the former prime minister as the party chief on December 13 and issued him a notice for the same.
Meanwhile, PTI sources also confirmed that it has received a notice from the Election Commission to Chairman Imran Khan
PTI General Secretary Asad Umar said the party will write a letter to the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja to inquire about the reason for sending a notice.
He said they would challenge the legitimacy of the notice, adding that the ECP had no authority to remove Imran Khan as party chairman.
