Saif Ali Khan revealed that working with wives and girlfriends isn’t a good idea because he thrives on “healthy competition, riffing off his co-stars”.
He explained in an older interview that surfaced in recent times, where he shared how working with own wife and girlfriend is “deferential and slightly boring in the frame” and doesn’t “compete and give enough energy” because their off-screen relationship makes them too comfortable.
While he has worked with his wife, Kareena Kapoor Khan, in several films, he feels it’s better for them to work with other people to keep their professional and personal lives interesting.
In 2021, he stated that to keep both personal and professional life from becoming monotonous, its “nice to work with other people and live nicely together”.

Khan has starred opposite Kareena Kapoor Khan multiple times in the past.
Their films together include, LOC Kargil (2003), Omkara (2006), Tashan (2008), Kurbaan (2009)
and Agent Vinod (2012).
Usually known as power couple of Bollywood, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan have a romance that began on the set of their 2008 film, Tashan, and led to their marriage in 2012.
