RAWALPINDI: More than 12 rockets fired by terrorists from Afghanistan martyred a Pakistani child and injured seven others on Thursday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the rockets hit the Lagharai sector and Sarakai Top in Bajaur at 2:50 pm. “A five-year-old minor resident of Mamund, Bajaur embraced shahadat while 7 minors including a girl got injured,” the military’s media wing said.
Earlier, Foreign Office (FO) had confirmed that no casualties or damage were reported after two rockets landed on Pakistan’s border from the Afghan side.
The FO spokesperson said the Torkham border has been closed in view of security concerns, whereas, Pakistan has risen to matter with senior Afghan officials regarding the cross-border rocket attack.
Last year, at least eleven people, including six Pakistan Army soldiers and five civilians, had sustained injuries when Afghan security forces resorted to firing from across the Afghan border.
Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) press released stated, the Afghan forces fired from the Nari district of the Kunar province, targeting the civilian population in Arundu village in Chitral. The Pakistan Army responded effectively and targeted the Afghan border posts which engaged in the firing.
