Residents of several neighbourhoods in Thano Malir Union Council staged a strong protest against prolonged electricity outages and the continued disruption of water supply, blocking the National Highway and causing severe traffic congestion.
According to local residents, the affected areas have experienced a prolonged power outage for the third time this month, leaving households without both electricity and water.
The protest initially began with the closure of Murad Memon Road, before demonstrators moved to the National Highway, where they staged a sit-in and blocked the carriageway to all traffic.
The road blockade resulted in long queues of vehicles and brought traffic on the National Highway to a complete standstill.
The protesters demanded the immediate restoration of electricity and water services, urging the relevant authorities to address the recurring disruptions without further delay.
