Rangers, police conduct seach operation in Sindh’s jails

KARACHI: Pakistan Rangers Sindh and Police on Friday conducted search operations in three jails in the province over an imminent threat of terrorism.
According to a Rangers spokesperson, the paramilitary force conducted search operations in Central Jail Karachi, Hyderabad and Sukkur.
The law enforcement agencies personnel thoroughly searched the barracks and cells in prisons along with the bomb disposal squad and sniffer dogs.
Several prohibited items including television sets, knives, scissors, USBs, memory cards, lighters, nail cutters and heaters were recovered during the search operation.
The law enforcement officials also checked entry and exit points and other security arrangements in jails, the spokesperson said.
This is the second within the month that a search operation has been conducted at these prisons in Sindh due to the incident of terrorism.
Earlier this month on 18th July, Pakistan Rangers Sindh conducted search operations at Karachi, Hyderabad and Sukkur jails.
Different wings of the paramilitary took part in the operation and searched all the barracks and cells. They confiscated a large number of prohibited items including television, fans, fridges, air coolers, gold chains, nail cutters.
The operation that lasted for hours was conducted on the threats of terrorist attack over the aforesaid jails, a Rangers spokesperson had said.
