KARACHI: Pakistan Rangers Sindh on Wednesday claimed to have apprehended 16 suspected criminals, including two drug peddlers, during raids in different parts of the metropolis.
According to Rangers’ spokesman, the paramilitary forces conducted raids against drug peddlers in different areas of the city, including Brigade and Jackson areas and detained two drug peddlers, Ahmed and Muhammad Kashif. The arrested suspects were stated to be involved in supplying the drug in different areas of the city.
Separately, during raids in Sachal, Supermarket, Awami Colony, Malir, Alfalah Society the rangers’ teams apprehended 12 robbers, including Abdul Aziz, Shakir Khan, Edris, Sohail, Athar, Usma Ali, Din, Saqib, Rehman, Latif, Hussain Ali and Sher Muhammad.
The Rangers claimed that the arrested suspects were involved in street crimes, drug peddling and other suspicious activities.
Earlier on January 4, Sindh Rangers apprehended 19 suspects during raids carried out in various areas of Karachi. Rangers had stated that the raids were carried out by paramilitary forces in the metropolis areas of Baldia, Korangi, Malir and other areas of the city.
The Rangers also claimed to have recovered weapons, drug and contrabands from their possession.
