A statue of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah was unveiled at the Pakistan Embassy in Washington on Friday during Independence Day celebrations.
Ambassador Rizwan Saeed Sheikh unveiled the statue at a ceremony attended by Pakistani-American community members, diplomats and media representatives.
Donated by the Quaid-e-Azam Foundation of Houston, the statue will remain permanently at the embassy as Pakistan prepares to mark Jinnah’s 150th birth anniversary later this year.

Paying tribute to Jinnah, Sheikh said the nation remained grateful for his constitutional struggle and tireless efforts to turn the vision of Pakistan into reality.
He urged Pakistanis, particularly those living abroad, to uphold the founder’s principles of “Unity, Faith and Discipline”.
The ceremony began with the hoisting of the national flag, followed by the national anthem, Quranic recitation and messages from Pakistan’s president, prime minister and deputy prime minister.
