SAHIWAL: One more person died of the novel coronavirus in Punjab, increasing the provincial tally to 11 on Saturday.
According to the sources from the Sahiwal healthcare facility, the deceased’s relatives had hidden her travel history from the healthcare staff and acted as if she had other medical issues.
The patient was kept in a normal ward with other patients despite showing clear symptoms of COVID-19 which is contagious and its patients are treated in an isolation.
The Intensive Care Unit of the hospital was fumigated after the staff came to know that the deceased was infected. All the people at the hospital including health care staff members were immediately shifted from there.
The confirmed cases of coronavirus in Pakistan have surged past 2,709 after new cases emerged in several areas across the country. The national dashboard stated that 97 new cases have emerged during the last 24 hours and five deaths, whereas, 10 patients remained in critical condition.
