Chinar Sugar Mill Faisalabad has paid Rs 68.3 million to sugarcane farmers as Punjab government is taking all possible steps to protect the interests of sugarcane farmers.
Cane Commissioner Punjab Amjad Hafeez said that as part of the Punjab government’s fundamental reform initiative, the process of completely digitizing the sugarcane procurement, weighing and CPR system has been started.
He said that the government will ensure payments to farmers within 15 days. He said that the Price Control Commodities Management Department is continuously monitoring sugar mills. Delay in payments to farmers will not be tolerated.
