LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has approved six road projects and four model graveyards in Lahore.
During a meeting chaired by CM Buzdar on Friday approved five projects for the Mianwali district and four for Lahore.
The chief minister said these projects will have connectivity for economic growth and proposed road sector projects will strengthen and widen existing structures, construct new pavements and bypasses, improve junctions and introduce road safety features.
The graveyards will be made under the Punjab Shehr-e-Khamoshan Authority (PSKA). The road projects will cost Rs 190 million. Water supply schemes for Harappa and Chichawatni, which were announced by the CM during his Sahiwal visit, have also been approved.
Similarly, a state-of-the-art bus station will be built in Mianwali and a project of sewerage and drainage will be completed at the bus station at a cost of 130 million rupees.
Earlier, the Executive Committee of the Punjab Public-Private Partnership Authority had allowed the Project Development Facility (PDF) under the public-private partnership (PPP) model.
The approved projects include Multan Ring Road, rehabilitation of Kharian-Dinga Road, dualization of Gujranwala-Pasrur Road, dualization of Gujranwala-Hafizabad Road, Expo Centre at M-3 Industrial City Faisalabad and parking plaza at Jhika Gali Murree.
The project development facility funding was approved in the 7th meeting of the Executive Committee of the authority held under the chair of Adviser to Chief Minister on Economic Affairs and P&D Dr Salman Shah to hire transaction advisory services for the development of PPP project proposals.
