KARACHI: Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) today (Tuesday) fell flat after a range-bound session, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index gaining only 14 points amid lackluster activity.
The benchmark KSE-100 Index oscillated both ways on Monday, recording its intraday high at 47,910.12 and low at 47,616.73. It settled higher by 14.31 points at 47,686.99.
Among other indices, the KMI-30 Index lost 233.22 points to end at 77,040.17, while the KSE All Share Index closed flat (-49.85 points) at 32,528.61.
A total of 432,626,166 shares were traded during the day, whereas the price of shares stood at Rs13.876 billion. As many as 432 companies transacted shares in the stock market, 165 of them recorded gain and 259 sustained losses whereas the share price of 8 companies remained unchanged.
The three top traded companies were WorldCall Telecom with a volume of 36,634,500 shares and price per share of Rs3.84, Byco Petroleum with a volume of 34,550,000 and price per share of Rs10.27 and KASB Mod with volume of 17,830,500 and price per share of Rs2.93.
Sapphire Tex witnessed maximum increase of Rs 67.50 per share, closing at Rs967.50 whereas Sapphire Fiber was runner up, share prices of which increased by Rs 60, closing at Rs860.
Colgate Palm recorded a maximum decrease of Rs 83.46 per share, closing at Rs 2694 followed by AKD Hospitality, the share prices of which decreased by Rs 30 per share, closing at Rs415.
