Heavyweight counters such as OGDC, POL, PPL, PSO, WAFI, HBL, and MCB all traded in positive territory.

On Thursday, the Pakistan Stock Exchange extended its upward momentum, with the benchmark index finishing significantly higher as investors grew more confident amid renewed optimism driven by merger and acquisition developments in the cement sector.

Meanwhile, the Pakistani rupee continued its modest upward trend against the US dollar. In Friday’s inter-bank session, the currency appreciated by 0.01%, closing at 280.72, an increase of four paisas.
