The Karachi Police has taken action against the large-scale sale and purchase of weapons on fake licenses in the city. A committee was formed for the investigation.
According to the details, large-scale fake arms licenses and the purchase and sale of arms were revealed in Karachi. The Additional IG has constituted a committee to investigate. Official notification has been issued.
The police investigation team includes SP Baldia Captain Faizan and SP Investigation Kemari. The committee will investigate dealers who make fake licenses and sell arms on them. Records of licenses will be reviewed.
The investigation team is checking arms licenses issued from 2012 to 2020. Police said that not only fake licenses have been made in thousands but also weapons have been sold.
Officials said that the process of confiscating fake licenses and weapons has been started by calling the license holders. Complaints were received regarding Korangi South, East, and West licenses.
It should be noted that earlier there were 10 encounters between the police and robbers in Karachi, one robber was killed in the exchange of fire while 16 robbers including 11 injured robbers were arrested. 10 mobile phones and 6 motorcycles were recovered from the possession of the accused.
