Police officer shot dead in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI: The unidentified assailants gunned down a police officer in Rawalpindi during the wee hours of Friday.

According to the initial investigation, it was known that the deceased Sub-Inspector Arshid was traveling along with his family in his car when unknown attackers opened fire on him in the jurisdiction of Police Station Civil Lines.

The opened fire later became the cause of the deceased Sub-Inspector’s death. Police and rescue officials, after being informed, rushed to the scene.

Arshid was shifted to the hospitals where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival. The spokesperson said that the police officer was deployed at Saddar Baroni Police Station.
