KARACHI: Police have nabbed a habitual thief involved in a range of wide range of criminal activities including stealing motorcycles in Karachi.
The suspect was involved in stealing two motorcycles from Abdullah Haroon Road in Saddar in the past one month. Preedy Police apprehended the suspect Arshad alias Tanveer aka Tanu.
The suspect was wanted in stealing a motorcycle from near the Mobile Market is Saddar area. He carefully managed to break the lock of the motorcycle and escaped.
Police said the suspect was a habitual criminal and was previously booked at Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Preedy, Mehmoodabad and Soldier Bazaar police station in a wide range of criminal activities including drug smuggling, arms possession and stealing motorcycles.
During interrogation, the suspect told police that he used a tool and several keys to steal the bikes and later sold them for Rs7,000 to Rs8000 to a man named Munawar residing in Bilal Colony.
The suspect is also involved in stealing precious items and mobile phones. SHO Preedy said raid are being conducted to arrest his accomplice Munawar who bought stolen bikes from him.
The suspect has confessed to stealing two 125cc motorcycles within a month. A FIR no. 805/2020 has been registered against him under Section 397 of Pakistan Penal Code (Robbery or dacoity, with attempt to cause death or grievous hurt), and another no. 805/2020 under Section 23(1)A under Sindh Arms Act.
