SINDH: Sindh police on Wednesday claimed to have apprehended 666 people on the third day of lockdown across Sindh province.
According to a spokesman for Sindh police, at least 259 people were arrested for violating lockdown from different areas of Karachi, including 23 people from the South zone, 48 from East zone and 10 people arrested from the West zone. A total of 81 FIRs have been registered against them.
Meanwhile, 407 people were arrested by police from different areas of Sindh, includes 70 people from Hyderabad, 10 from Mirpurkhas, nine from Shaheed Banazirabad, 43 from Sukkur and 16 people were arrested from Larkana over the violation of lockdown.
Earlier, the Sindh government imposed a complete ban on public movement, social and religious gatherings across the province under Sindh Epidemic Diseases Act 2014.
In this regard, a notification stated that the violation of the orders will be considered as an offense punishable under section 188 of the Pakistan Penal code.
The movement of people, gathering of any kind and any other purpose at any public or private place will remain banned for the next 15 days amid coronavirus outbreak.
