ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Water Resources and Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) leader Moonis Elahi has reached London.
Moonis Elahi departed for London via British Airways flight BA 260 from the Islamabad International airport on Thursday. Amid speculation, the minister said that he has come on a private visit and would inform media if any meetings take place.
He added that he would return within three to four days. Elahi said they are allies of the PTI-led governments in the Centre and Punjab while decisions for the future course of action will be taken by Pervaiz Elahi.
Earlier this week, Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi had clarified that PML-Q has neither left the incumbent alliance nor it had joined the opposition. He maintained that Prime Minister Imran Khan is an honest person and has good intentions.
A day ealier, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) said that the arrest of Moonis Elahi was “out of the question”. According to the anti-graft watchdog’s spokesperson, no inquiry was pending against Elahi at present, adding that NAB had also issued an explanation yesterday in this connection.
He clarified that NAB has nothing to do with the no-confidence motion and the institution always believed in performing its duties in accordance with the Constitution and law.
“NAB does not belong to any political party, group or individual but to the state of Pakistan. No NAB official has anything to do with the no-confidence motion and will never have,” the spokesperson further said.
