SIALKOT: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Attaullah Tarar, who was apprehended from Wazirabad on Friday has been released.
PML-N spokesperson Maryam Aurangzeb had confirmed the arrest of Attaullah Tarar, Tarar was in Daska for the by-election’s campaign along with several other PML-N leaders. However, The reason for his arrest and the police station where he is being taken is not shared by the spokesperson.
On the other hand, sources disclosed that weapons were recovered from Attaullah Tarar’s vehicle but he was released on presentation of license.
Marriyum Aurangzeb termed his arrest an act of kidnapping as the police booked him without an arrest warrant. The spokesperson said that the fascist government was taking such steps as they were aware of their failure in the by-elections.
Aurangzeb said that Tarar had no case pending against him anywhere, adding that the police had arrested him as he was an active member in organizing the by-election’s campaign.
The PML-N leader said that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) should take notice of the arrest, claiming that this was pre-poll rigging.
