ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has decided to award medals to martyred doctors and medical staff who took care of coronavirus patients.
The prime minister acknowledged and paid tribute to the services of doctors and frontline health workers across the country during the coronavirus epidemic.
On this occasion, the prime minister said that these sons and daughters of the country died from this deadly epidemic while fulfilling their responsibilities. “The entire nation will remain indebted to these dutiful doctors and frontline health workers,” he added.

Shahbaz Sharif further said that the families of these doctors and frontline health workers are the pride of the nation. Around 81 doctors from Punjab, 87 from Sindh, 23 from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 8 from Balochistan, 4 from Azad Kashmir, and one doctor each from Gilgit and Islamabad will be awarded (posthumously).
Moreover, 59 nurses and frontline health workers from across Pakistan will also be honored with the Tagha Imtiaz (posthumously).
