ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has said no pressure will be accepted from any group in action against the corrupt mafia and in case of accountability and everyone will have to face strict action.
Prime Minister Imran Khan has given a clear message that the government will not be blackmailed by any pressure group, adding that the government has decided to proceed ahead with stern accountability and no leniency or latitude would be shown towards anyone in this regard.
According to sources, a meeting of the PTI Core Committee was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Imran Khan on Sunday and Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar gave a briefing on the meeting with Jahangir Tareen Group.
Addressing the meeting, Prime Minister Imran Khan said, “Our entire political struggle was for the rule of law. PTI believes in justice and the process of accountability and the process will continue without any discrimination.”
He said, “If overthrowing the government is someone’s objective, then they should fulfill their wish. We will not back off from our policy due to the blackmailing of anyone. We will not give NRO to anyone to save the government, Prime Minister Imran added.
PM Imran lashed out at an ‘organized mafia’ scattering pessimism and crippling positive administrative changes in the country and asserted that his government would not take any pressure and face all challenges coming it’s way. He directed the Punjab government to speed up development works and use the allocated funds in the most transparent manner.
PM Imran said elected representatives must make sure close liaisons with the people in their respective areas and struggle for the resolution of their issues. He also directed the Punjab government to take strict action against the profiteers, hoarders and encroachers.
On this occasion, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar said that the provincial government would not take political revenge on any member of the Assembly. “We will remove all legitimate reservations of our MPs,” he added.
He said all agencies of the country are working independently on various cases. The Punjab government will not pressurize any investigative agency, said the CM. Earlier, lawmakers of Jahangir Tareen like-minded group met Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar to convey their reservations.
The members of the Tareen group who met with the Punjab chief minister included Umer Tanweer, Aslam Bharwana and Faisal Hayat Jabbona. During the meeting, Usman Buzdar had assured Jahangir Tareen group members of addressing all their concerns.
