KARACHI: Pakistani rupee on Friday depreciated for the fourth consecutive session against the US dollar, dropping 0.09 percent in the interbank market.
As per the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), the rupee closed at 225.64 after a fall of Rs0.21 against the greenback. The rupee has depreciated by 21.82% against the US dollar during the ongoing calendar year.

On Thursday, the rupee depreciated against the US dollar, to settle at 225.43 after a decline of Re0.03 or 0.01% in the interbank market.
Pakistan’s economic situation continues to remain in the doldrums, as foreign exchange reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) fell another $584 million to a critical level of $6.12 billion, data released on Thursday showed.
This is the lowest level of SBP-held reserves since April 2014.
