ISLAMABAD: The federal government has decided to release the fifth and sixth installments of the petrol subsidy scheme during June 2026, according to official sources.
The decision was taken in a high-level review meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, where the implementation and progress of the subsidy program were reviewed in detail.
According to an official statement from the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office, the meeting discussed financial assistance being provided under the petrol subsidy scheme to transport operators, motorcycle owners, and farmers. It was noted that four installments under the petrol subsidy program have already been successfully disbursed on a weekly basis over the past two months.
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar expressed satisfaction over the progress of the scheme and directed authorities to ensure continued effective implementation of the subsidy initiative.
The meeting also reviewed transparency, accountability, and coordination with provincial governments to improve the delivery mechanism of the subsidy. Officials were instructed to strengthen monitoring systems to ensure maximum benefit reaches eligible individuals.
