An attempt by three suicide bombers, identified by authorities as members of the ‘Fitna Al-Khawarij’ (a term often used for sectarian/rebellious militants), to storm the Federal Constabulary (FC) Headquarters in Peshawar was successfully thwarted by security forces.

The quick response resulted in the killing of all three terrorists, though the nation mourns the martyrdom of three FC personnel during the engagement.

One suicide bomber detonated his vest at the main gate. The remaining two successfully entered the headquarters but were engaged and killed by vigilant FC personnel. All three attackers were neutralized.

Both the CCPO and Deputy Commandant FC Javed Iqbal confirmed the martyrdom of three FC personnel. Two other security officials were injured.

IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police, Zulfiqar Hameed, clarified that two suicide blasts occurred within the headquarters: one at the main gate and the second near the motorcycle stand.

Deputy Commandant Javed Iqbal praised the bravery of the FC jawans, stating they fought the terrorists courageously. Law enforcement cordoned off the area immediately, and heavy contingents of police and rescue teams arrived at the scene.

Nine injured individuals were brought at the Lady Reading Hospital (LRH), including three FC personnel and six civilians. LRH administration stated that the condition of all injured is stable and out of danger.

Local residents reported hearing heavy firing from the direction of the FC Headquarters. Following the attack, the administration temporarily suspended the BRT bus service due to security concerns.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the terrorist attack on the Federal Constabulary Headquarters in Peshawar.

The Prime Minister praised the security forces’ timely action for averting a greater loss. He vowed that the sinister designs of the terrorists attempting to challenge Pakistan’s integrity would be foiled, and directed authorities to swiftly identify and bring the perpetrators to justice.
