The annual inflation rate in the country rose to 11.1% in June 2026, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).
The Bureau said the Consumer Price Index (CPI) stood at 11.7% in May 2026, compared with 3.2% in June 2025.
On a month-on-month basis, inflation declined by 0.3% in June 2026, compared with an increase of 0.5% in May 2026. In June 2025, monthly inflation had increased by 0.2%.
For the fiscal year 2025-26, average inflation was recorded at 7.05%, compared with 4.49% during the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.
In urban areas, annual inflation based on the Consumer Price Index stood at 11.2% in June 2026, compared with 11.8% in May 2026 and 3.0% in June 2025.
On a monthly basis, urban inflation fell by 0.5% in June 2026, after increasing by 0.7% in May 2026. In June 2025, monthly urban inflation had risen by 0.1%.
In rural areas, annual CPI-based inflation was recorded at 10.9% in June 2026, compared with 11.5% in May 2026 and 3.6% in June 2025.
On a month-on-month basis, rural inflation remained unchanged in June 2026, following an increase of 0.3% in May 2026. In June 2025, monthly rural inflation had risen by 0.5%.
