ISLAMABAD: A total of 898 new cases of coronavirus have been reported across the country while five more people have died due to the virus in the last 24 hours.
According to figures released by the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), a total of 1,288,763 people were infected with coronavirus across the country, while 28,950 people lost their lives to the virus.
During the last 24 hours, 49,673 tests were performed for the diagnosis of coronavirus, bringing the total number of tests to 23.68 million. Nationwide, corona test results were positive at 1.8%, with 652 patients in intensive care. In the last 24 hours, coronavirus has been defeated by 245 people across the country, bringing the total number of recovering people to 1,257,600.
The highest number of coronavirus cases were reported in Sindh while deaths were reported in Punjab. In Punjab, 445,940 people fell victim to the virus while 13,076 died. In Sindh, 483,648 cases and 7,675 deaths were reported from coronavirus.

In different cities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 181,880 people fell victim to coronavirus while 5,935 died. In Balochistan, 33,653 cases of the virus were reported while 365 people lost their lives.
In Azad Kashmir, 34,676 people were infected with coronavirus and 746 died. In Gilgit-Baltistan, 10,429 cases and 186 deaths were reported. In Islamabad, 188,880 people were infected with covid and 967 died.
