ISLAMABAD: Pakistan expressed disappointment over the US Department of State’s Country Report on Terrorism 2018.
According to media reports, it said in a statement released by Foreign Office spokesperson, Dr. Muhammad Faisal that Pakistan has made significant efforts in order to eliminate terrorism from the country and stabilize peace in the region.
On this occasion, the FO spokesperson also mentioned that the report has ignored the facts and the ground situation. To restore peace, Pakistan made countless sacrifices in the last two decades. The country had also taken part in the international struggle against terrorism as well. With the help of armed forces, eliminate of Al-Qaeda from the region was made possible.
Pakistan has contributed in making the world a safe place, added the spokesperson.

The FO spokesperson also said that the country has devised the National Action Plan and taken concrete actions under it.
He further added that Pakistan is determined to implement the FATF Action Plan as well. 
Earlier, the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) has expressed satisfaction on the measures taken by Pakistan and its progress in various areas. It reviewed Pakistan’s progress on money laundering and terror financing.
A Pakistani delegation led by Minister for Economic Affairs Hammad Azhar told the FATF meeting that Pakistan has made positive progress in 20 out of 27 points.

China, Turkey and Malaysia had also appreciated the steps taken by Pakistan.
