ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said Pakistan will continue to further strengthen political, economic and cultural ties with Afghanistan.
While talking to ambassador-nominated for Afghanistan Mansoor Ahmad Khan, FM Qureshi said peace in Afghanistan is crucial for peace and stability in the entire region.
The foreign minister said Pakistan enjoys close, friendly ties with Afghanistan and will remain committed to upgrading partnership to higher levels, despite facing several challenges at internal and external fronts.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi while congratulating Mansoor Ahmad Khan over his nomination as an ambassador to the neighboring country said that this would be helpful in further strengthening bilateral relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
They also discussed matters with particular reference to Pakistan-Afghanistan bilateral relations and the Afghan peace process.
Earlier, Shah Mahmood Qureshi had said Pakistan will continue playing a facilitating role for regional peace and stability including the Afghan peace process.
He was talking to the Afghan Ambassador to Pakistan Atif Mishal. The foreign minister said durable peace and stability in the region is linked to peace in Afghanistan.
He said the intra-Afghan dialogue will pave the way for sustainable peace in Afghanistan. The Afghan ambassador thanked the foreign minister for his good wishes.
Qureshi reiterated steadfast support for Afghanistan’s peace and reconciliation process and said Pakistan is committed to enhancing bilateral cooperation with Afghanistan.
