Pakistan and 13 other countries have strongly condemned remarks by US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee suggesting he would not oppose Israel taking control of vast areas of the Middle East, the Foreign Office said on Sunday.
Huckabee made the comments during an interview with former Fox News host Tucker Carlson, asserting that Israel’s borders are rooted in biblical references. When Carlson pointed out that a biblical verse refers to land stretching from the Euphrates River in Iraq to the Nile in Egypt, Huckabee responded that it would be “fine” if Israel “took it all”.

In a joint statement, the foreign ministers of Pakistan, Egypt, Jordan, the UAE, Qatar, Indonesia, Kuwait, Oman, Turkiye, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Lebanon, Syria and Palestine, along with the OIC, LAS and GCC, expressed profound concern. They rejected the remarks as inflammatory and a violation of international law and the UN Charter.
The statement said the comments undermine US President Donald Trump’s peace vision and stressed that Israel holds no sovereignty over occupied Palestinian or other Arab territories.
