KARACHI: Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has been actively engaged in conducting evacuation missions to repatriate stranded Pakistanis from war-torn Sudan. In coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the PAF Airbus has carried 140 fellow countrymen, including children and families, back to Karachi.
According to PAF spokesperson, the evacuation missions are being carried out as a humanitarian effort to provide a safe passage to the Pakistani citizens who have been stuck in Sudan due to the ongoing conflict.
It may be recalled that Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari announced on April 25 that another convoy of 211 Pakistanis had arrived in Port Sudan, bringing the total number of evacuated Pakistanis to 700. The minister also praised the efforts of Ambassador Meer Bahrose Regi’s team, who worked tirelessly in Khartoum and Port Sudan to facilitate the stay of Pakistanis until their evacuation to Pakistan.
These evacuation missions have been highly appreciated by the Overseas Pakistani community, who have been expressing their gratitude to the PAF and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for their efforts in ensuring the safe return of their fellow citizens.
The government has reiterated its commitment to continuing the evacuation missions until all stranded Pakistanis are brought back home safely.
