KARACHI: The water of the rain has accumulated on the roads of Sindh capital, claiming a person’s life due to accidental electrocution.
According to the details, after the rain stopped in Karachi, water has been drained down from most of the roads of the city and the flow of traffic has been restored. Water was removed from II Chandrigar Road, Shahrah-e-Pakistan and Gurumandir.
The city administration has completed water drainage from Qayyumabad Chowrangi, Saddar Road and Tower through machinery, while water drainage work is in progress from other areas including Defence, Khayaban-i Shahbaz. There is still water in several places.
In Quaidabad, Korangi, Landhi and other areas there is still rain on the roads. Citizens are facing difficulties in transportation due to water accumulation in many places. Problems for pedestrians increased.
The citizens had to face difficulties in transportation due to the sudden heavy rain yesterday and the rain water accumulated in a short time. Other areas including Defence, Korangi, Gora Qabristan and Nursery were submerged in water.
Meanwhile, one person was electrocuted while cutting an electric wire during rain in Kemari Fishery area of Karachi. The body of a 30-32-year-old man was found near Dhakka No. 9 in Fishery and was shifted to the hospital.
Police say that according to the statements of the eyewitnesses, the deceased citizen died while cutting electric wires in the area of Dhakka No. 9, who looks like a drug addict. Further investigation is underway.
