ISLAMABAD: A crucial meeting of the National Security Committee (NSC) is scheduled to take place today to discuss key issues related to security and economy.

According to reports from official and media sources, the NSC meeting will be held at the Prime Minister House, and it is expected to take significant decisions regarding the proposals that were discussed during previous NSC meeting on Dec 30.

According to the PM Office, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will chair the meeting which would be attended by Minister for Defense Khawaja Asif, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, Foreign affairs Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb.
Besides these, Chairman Joint Chiefs Of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir, Naval Chief admiral Amjad Khan Niazi, air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sindhu, Director General ISI Lt Gen Nadeem Ahmed Anjum, secretaries of Foreign affairs and National Security Division and other high ranking civil and military officials would attend the meeting.

It may be recalled during the meeting that took place on December 30, the National Security Committee (NSC) vowed to respond firmly to resurgence of terrorism in the country and expressed the resolve that militants were enemies of Pakistan.
The participants of the meeting also reviewed the country’s economy and law and order situation in detail, the PMO statement said.
