The top political and military leadership of Pakistan has once again decided to launch an all-out comprehensive operation against militant outfits to root out the menace of terrorism from the country. The decision was made Friday in the National Security Committee (NSC) meeting which presided over by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, while it was also attend by Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Shamshad Mirza.
It is obvious that the terrorism has once again surged in the country during last one year, particularly the banned outfit Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has not only increased its attacks on security forces but also openly declared a war against the country and with the passage of time their activities are increasing. In this situation the decision of the NSC to kick start a comprehensive operation against the menace of terrorism with renewed vigor and determination is the need of the time.
Hope the decision of the NSC would be materialized and the operation will be started soon to crash all the militant outfits fully without any compromise so that the menace of the terrorism could be rooted out for once and for all.
Besides terrorism, street crimes have also surged with alarming number in the country, particularly in metropolises like Karachi. In the street crimes not only the citizens are deprived of their cash and mobile phones but are also killed brutally. Every day several people are being killed during the street crimes across the country.
So, the government should pay attention toward this issue too and launch a comprehensive operation against the street criminals. To eliminate street crimes the country also needs comprehensive reform both in the police department and the judiciary. Without reform in both the institutions street crimes could not be control effectively.
