Defence Minister Khawaja Asif refuting reports of an offer to shift former prime minister Imran Khan to Bani Gala said it is only ‘wishful’ thinking of the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaaf (PTI).
Talking to the media on Saturday, the defence minister stressed that the government’s primary focus is on ensuring political stability in the country and improving the economy. “Political peace and stability are crucial for self-reliance and economic growth,” he noted.
Dismissing reports about the possible transfer of Imran Khan to Bani Gala, Khawaja Asif said, “This is merely PTI’s wishful thinking. The government has made no such offer.” He also asserted, “PTI’s attempts to destabilise the country have failed at every turn. Their leaders’ claims hold no truth.”

Criticising the PTI’s call for civil disobedience, Khawaja Asif said that PTI claims that people have stopped sending remittances, but this is far from the truth.
“Overseas Pakistanis are greatly contributing to our economy by sending remittances home every month”, he said.
The economy is gradually improving, and remittances are increasing. The public has rejected the PTI’s call for economic disruption.
Khawaja Asif reiterated that the government remains committed to bringing political and economic stability to the nation, which he described as essential for long-term prosperity.
