Rawalpindi: Federal Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah has said no decision has been taken about imposing Governor’s rule in Punjab, nor has any such summary been sent, but Imran Khan should himself dismiss the Punjab government today.
Talking to the reporters in Rawalpindi on Friday, Rana Sanaullah asked that if jatha (Mob) culture was developed in the country, what would happen to democracy and where the state would do, adding that no chance would be provided to the mob to invade Islamabad, and every such attempt would be strictly dealt with.
Responding to questions, Rana Sanaullah said any departments, including army officers had the right to present their views and stance when faced with criticisms and allegations, and whenever deemed necessary, such information should be passed on to the public. He said even military personnel have their families and they too deserve due respect.
He said that there were clear orders from the Supreme Court and the High Court about staging protest demonstrations in Islamabad, and the government would fulfil its responsibilities by providing security to the venue fixed for such events.
The interior minister said that PTI’s lies and frauds were busted before the masses yesterday, as people were being fed lies and frauds.
Rana Sanaullah said that all matters related to Arshad Sharif had been handed over to the inquiry commission and many things had come to light, but “I cannot tell them now,” adding that the report of the commission would be submitted to the interior ministry.
He alleged that the Punjab Anti-Corruption Establishment had issued a warrant for his arrest at the behest of Imran Khan, and the same ACE withdrew my arrest warrant today.
