KARACHI: National Navy Day is being celebrated across the country with great enthusiasm and fervor today with the aim of paying homage to the achievements of the Pakistan Navy in the 1965 war.

According to details, National Naval Day is observed on September 8 to commemorate the glorious deeds of the Pakistan Navy in defeating the enemy with the country’s air and ground forces. In the Indo-Pak war of 1965, September 8 was named after the Pakistan Navy.

During Operation Dwarka, the Pakistan Navy rescued six enemy positions and destroyed key installations to ensure the protection of water borders. Navy personnel have struck a chord in the hearts of the enemy, and National Day is celebrated on September 8 every year in his memory.

Only 18 years after the establishment of Pakistan, the aggressive neighboring enemy imposed war on Pakistan. Pakistan’s air, land, and naval forces, despite not being equipped with the latest weapons against the enemy, fought relentlessly and claimed victory.

The Pakistan Navy, despite its bravery, professionalism, and lack of aircraft carriers, performed such a feat in the history of war with its single submarine Ghazi that the historian of the time is amazed at it. The submarine Ghazi stopped the Indian navy from advancing on the seas.

During Operation Dwarka, led by Commodore SM Noor, naval ships continued to rescue the enemy. The National Navy proved its military superiority over India in the night raids between September 7 and 8. Special events will be held across the country on the occasion of Naval Day.
