ISLAMABAD: A meeting of Foreign Ministers of Afghanistan’s neighbors will be held today At the invitation of Pakistan in which the situation in the region will be reviewed and important decisions will be taken.
According to details, the situation in Afghanistan will be discussed at a meeting of Foreign Ministers of neighboring countries chaired by Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi.
The virtual meeting will be attended by the foreign ministers of China, Iran, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. Measures related to regional stability and prosperity will be considered during the meeting.
According to a statement issued by the Foreign Office spokesperson, the virtual meeting will provide an opportunity for neighboring countries to work together in view of the changing situation in Afghanistan.
According to a statement from the Foreign Office, steps will be taken by neighboring countries with a common goal of a peaceful and stable Afghanistan and the economic ties agenda will also be put into practice.
The meeting will take forward the talks held at the level of special envoys three days before today, while the Foreign Office said that the stability of Afghanistan is in the interest of every neighboring country.
Earlier, the foreign minister said that the entire region would benefit from Afghan peace and stability, adding that if Afghanistan was left alone, it would be to the detriment of all.
Talking to the media last month, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that neighboring countries were fully aware of the current situation in Afghanistan.
